Fall Break Projects!

So the vanity area of the master bathroom and 2nd bathroom are finally done!!  I used a small budget of about $200 to do both rooms and I am very happy with the turn out.  Now if only I could tile the tub/shower stalls!!

Before- pretty bad I know!!

After!

I painted the walls and the vanity.  I added pulls to the vanity (which I drilled myself:)  and I added a tile frame around the mirror so it didn't look so builder grade!!

The last white wall room in the house is now gone!!  And I didn't even have to buy paint either, I simply went to the garage and found some pale yellow and mixed it with the dark brown from the vanities and poof-- new brown color and I love how it turned out.  I hope it never needs touch ups because I used all that I mixed and there is no left over.  I am pretty sure that I could never duplicate the color even if I tried!!

I also tiled the second bathroom mirror.  The tiles really pop against the blue.  This mirror was smaller so it was a lot easier to do the top layer of tiles!

And finally my Doc McStuffins pants for Joelle's Halloween costume.  A pair of leggings and some acrylic paint was all it took!!

The Doc Is In!

David's Birthday Part 2

As part of David's birthday gift he got to take 3 of his friends to the K-1 Speed racing course.  They had a great time.  They even had to wear real helmets!

After that, I dropped them off at Golden Corral for lunch!

Some Much Needed Daddy Time!

Joelle loves to snuggle with her daddy.  When Steve began his new job he had to do some traveling so Joelle missed out on some of her snuggles.  She would rather snuggle with her daddy than snuggle with me.  It is their special bonding time.  On Saturday mornings she loves to watch cartoons with him wherever he is.  She loves her mommy, but she is a Daddy's Girl!

Feeding Ducks!

Nothing beats spending some time at Kiwanis Park to feed the ducks.  When David and Megan were taking religious classes Joelle and I would go here every weekend while we waited the 2 hours for them to finish class.  She fed the ducks and she played on the playground and we just had fun.  It had been a while since we were here and we brought Julie with us.  Joelle and Julie are BFF's and always have a great time together.

Soccer Begins!

Joelle had her first soccer practice and was so excited to be on her friend Hayden's team again.  Unfortunately, she rolled her ankle during her first practice.  She was such a trooper that she got back up and finished out practice.  She limped on the way to the car, but seemed to be doing okay.  We got home, she took a shower, and we got her ready for bed.  I was going to put ice on it before bed and when I looked at her ankle I was shocked!!  It was HUGE!  I couldn't believe that she wasn't still crying.  She was such an athlete she made me proud.

She was very upset to find out that she would not be playing during her first game.  We went to the game since we were in charge of snacks, and she begged me all morning to let her play.  Her ankle bone is still pretty tender and she tried to participate in practice the following week, but rolled it again.  Hopefully taking more time off will help.

New Job!!

One month ago Steve accepted a new job with Shamrock Foods.  He is the Produce Sales Manager.  What exactly does that mean you ask?  Well, Shamrock got a new HUGE client and Steve is trying to keep them happy.  That means lots of trips to California.  In the last month he has spent 2 weeks in California and 2 here.  He is working long hours during the week, but his weekends are definitely quieter.  We are all very happy and excited for his new endeavor!

The Zoo

We met Joelle's friend Hayden at the Zoo during Fall Break.

I talked Megan into coming along and I am pretty sure she had a good time!

The little girls had a blast running from one exhibit to the next!

WOW!

Trying to see the animals that are far off!

Joelle was very excited to see the Rhinos because they were on Diego!

A carousel ride is always a must!!

Joelle and Megan got to end the day with a camel ride!

It was a great day with the girls!
