The Bathroom After!

So, in all my excitement of painting the bathroom, I forgot to get the before pictures!  Picture this if you will, builder beige just like the laundry room.  The tub is white with with tile and the counter is white.  Oh, and there were those fabulous hollywood style lights.  These are the after photos!  The color is more blue gray than the photos show.  It looks great.  Now the white pops.  The light fixture is a big improvement.  Although it ended up taking all of us to finally get it installed.  There were some faulty parts in the box, but we already had most of it up so mom and I went to Lowes about 4 times until we had what needed!!  The bathroom ended up being a family affair with everyone pitching in to try to help with the light.  Again, every time I walk by the room, I smile because I was able to do it with my family:)

Before and After Laundry Room

The laundry room was buidler beige!  I spend a lot of time in this room so I decided it needed a makeover.  My mom was going to be here for spring break, so it was the perfect time for painting!!  When I was younger, my grandpa Hess would come to visit and he was always the fix it guy.  He would help my parents with any things they wanted to do around the house.  He owned the house next to his house and made a tri-plex out of it.  He did all the work and up keep himself so he had all kinds of know-how.  I told my mom, she was my grandpa Hess!!  Here are the before pictures.

Notice the door frame.  The trim paint was completly scratched off.  It was like that on both doors.

 The After Photos
I love how these letters turned out!
Hooks for the kids to hang backpacks and coats.

Voila!  Perfect door frame and door.  Right under the door knob the paint had been scraped or scratched off and now you would never even know!

My crafty picture frame key holder:)
I got this paint from Home Depot- it was an oops paint.  It had the primer built in and it was only $7!  Before the trim and walls blended together and now the trim stands out and adds to room.  I love good deals and now I have a terrific room to do my laundry.  The best part is that whenever I see the room, I know mom and I did it together.

1st Trip to the Dentist!

Have you ever seen anyone so excited and happy to go to the dentist?  This was Joelle's first time and she did such a wonderful job.  She did everything that they asked her to do with a smile!
She really liked getting the X-rays done because there was a computer screen right in front of her and she was able to see the X-ray of her teeth.

When she was all done it was still all smiles:)  I am very lucky that she was not in the least bit afraid of what was going on.  She loved getting a new tooth brush and has already used her new floss!  When she was done with her appointment, she had to sit through mine as well!  She is such a trooper!

Laundry Room Letters!

This spring break I am going to paint my laundry room.  I got a gallon of oooppps paint at Home Depot for $7:)  I love a good deal.  Anyway, It is a pale green/gray color so I decided that I wanted to have letters that say laundry as a decoration.  I got the letters, got the fabric I wanted and I did a little decoupage today!

Fusable Hem Tape

It is amazing what can be done with some hem tape.  No sewing machine needed:)  Which is good because I don't know how to sew!
