Joelle and I went to Eau Claire for a few days to visit Emily, Joe and the girls. We went to this wonderful park called Irvine Park. The girls got to have a picnic! Joelle is such a poser!!
This was a HUGE outdoor grill.
We went to Irvine to feed the duck, but as you can see there were many other things that the girls were interested in.
The feeding of the ducks didn't go as planned. None of the ducks were interested in eating what we brought!! The girls ran around the pond and really tried to force it on them, but it was to no avail.
The park was like a mini zoo. They had a bear and a few tigers. The bears were really cute. I think they had monkeys as well.
This is the area where they had all the donors listed on bricks and apparently if you donate enough, you get a cement bench named after you or your company! As you can see the girls thought that the bench was a perfect photo opportunity! This park was such a great place and I am sure we will be headed there again next year when we visit.
After checking out all the animals, we went to the "Old Bear Cave". It was dark and very cold inside. Apparently, it is right under the Leinenkugels beer factory. Back in the day they used to hoist the beer down in the cave to keep it cool. It was their own personal cooler! The bear never really lived in the cave, but it sounds better than here is an old beer cooler:)
The next day we went to Fairfax Pool! The girls love it there. We went there last year, but none of the kids could swim so it was awesome to see what they were doing this year. All the girls have had swim lessons and they were going down the slide and jumping off the edge of the pool. Apparently, but the end of the summer Katey was even going off the diving boards!!
Headed for the slide.
Snacks and a little rest.
After swimming the girls had a little tea party!
