Halloween Night

We are ready for the big night!  I told Joelle that I could paint a tongue on her face, but she said she could just stick out her tongue, and that she did!
I was sick this day and wasn't able to go to Tyson and Jen's and take Joelle trick or treating.

My cutie and Hailey ready to make the rounds!!

Mail from Cousins

So excited to have gotten mail!

Monster Mash 2015

This year Joelle decided that she wanted to enter a pumpkin in the pumpkin contest at the Monster Mash.  We looked all over the internet and pintrest until we found the perfect idea.  A bubble gum machine pumpkin!
We started by painting the pumpkin black.  After it dried, we were going to paint circles on it for the gumballs, but when we tried, we just ended up scraping the black paint off.  Plan B- a glue gun and real gum balls.
A much better idea!

Joelle only burned her fingers once during the process.  It was pretty fun to make and it turned it really good!

Joelle in character.  She did this every time I took her picture!
My Crew!

I loved the back drops that Mrs. Foster had this year for the pictures!  They were so cute!

Joelle and her teacher Mrs. Bentz.
One of my students also dressed up like a dalmatian!
Joelle and her bestie Ava!

Garth Brooks

BEST. DATE.  NIGHT. EVER.
From the time that Steve and I first met, I have known he was a huge Garth fan.
We met online and through a message I asked him to tell me something that people wouldn't know about him or would be surprised to know about him.  His reply was that he was a HUGE Garth Brooks fan, and he loved Neil Diamond.  Wow I was sold!!  We have seen Neil twice, but had not had the pleasure to see Garth.. until now!  It was so much fun experiencing it for the first time together!  He was amazing!!

Senior Night Part 3

Senior Night Part 2

David had several posters that were all over campus and these are the photos from the posters.  He is such a handsome man and when he smiles he lights up a room!  Just like his Dad!

Senior Night!

Wow!  When people tell you that you blink and your children are grown, they are right!  Believe it!
David had Senior Night!

Joelle is so proud of her big bro!

Lock Down???

Tuesday, October 20th began just like any other normal school day.  One of my wonderful students got me a Brutus hat!
But at 1:50 on that fateful day, we were put into a lock down.  No problem, we wait in the corner of the room and prepare to not freak out when they try to open our locked door.  Except, that didn't happen.  After 20 minutes I began to wonder what was really going on.  Long story short, There was a bomb threat called in to our school.  We were locked down in our rooms while the Chandler PD  blocked off the area and began to use dogs to sniff for explosives.
That is Big and Black in the back of the school.  They wanted to evacuate us to a safe location but they had to make sure that our exit route was safe.
At approximately 4pm my grade level was finally evacuated and put on buses to go the park near by.  We were locked in our room for 2 hours and some of the students had to use the buckets to pee in!  The class did a great job.  We stayed calm and positive.  I was able to load students off the bus in an orderly manner and into their parents waiting arms.  I have been teaching for 14 years and have never had to be evacuated.  Hopefully it will be 14 more before I do it again.

Joelle's thoughts.  Were you scared?  No, she says with a funny look on her face.  I got water and snacks, peed in the bucket, and then I slept most of the time.  Done!
