A Few Boxes Don't Bother Us!

>
As you can see, the downstairs of our home is littered with boxes. Thank goodness Joelle still has some of her toys available to her. And bless David's heart, he played with her until she could play no more!

Moving Stinks!

Well, I really hate the time that is required to pack up all of your belongings, get them properly organized and make sure they are all clean. But I must say, I do like looking back at a room that has been emptied out. I am usually very good at the start of packing. I mean, I will work for hours to pack and organize rooms. Of course, you can't pack up everything, like the kitchen, until you are only a day away from the move. This is where my enthusiasm wanes. I am determined this time to not let this happen. Although, I do feel the apathy beginning to set in.

Fun with the Family in LA

Joelle was so excited to go to Grandma's house. She couldn't wait to get to sleep in Grandma's bed:) Since we were in LA in early December, Joelle was so much more comfortable when we got there. Probably a little too comfortable, she talked every ones ear off and followed Grandma around.

We spent Friday night at Andrew's with some of the other family members and friends. The kids had a great time playing HORSE with their cousins AJ and Dorian.

Megan played her uncle Michael at HORSE and won!! She took down the Manuel Arts High basketball player!

Joelle had a ton of fun playing with her auntie Marie. Marie completely spoiled her! She got all kinds of junk food and tons of trinkets to play with.

David and Xavier played video games non-stop. Oh, I think they did take breaks to eat and maybe go the bathroom, but that was about all.

Steve and I all decked out ready for the big 5-0 birthday party for Monique!

Mo knows...How to Throw a Party!!

Monique turned 50 on Feb. 10th, 2011 and she planned a wonderful party to celebrate the occasion. The party was at the Double Tree in El Segundo. As you will see it was a classy affair. A good time was had by all.

"Happy Birthday to ya, Happy Birthday to ya, Happy Birthday...."

Being Sick and Tired

Well, we have had so much going on the last few weeks I have been neglecting my duties of memory keeping for my family. First off, we have somewhere to live!! David and Megan are moving with their mom to a new house so they can move in with Mike and his boys, so that meant Kathlene's house was empty, enter us! This way the kids don't have to move into two new houses. We are looking forward to the move. Well, I am looking forward to getting out of a house that is going to be foreclosed on, but not the actual moving itself!
Joelle has been really sick the last 5 days. I got a call after work on Monday that Joelle had a temp of 102.6. When I got to the daycare, she was so pathetic. She was just miserable and shaking. We went home and began the Ibuprofen and Tylenol regiment. She was coughing non stop when I put her to bed so we went to urgent care. She was diagnosed with the flu and given Tamiflu. We had an appointment to see her pediatrician the next morning and since her cough never did stop, we did. He gave the same diagnosis and we got the Tamiflu and began giving her that. As long as she was medicated, she seemed okay. Finally on Thursday I thought her fever broke and we could both go back to school on Friday. My mistake, after a 4 hour nap, she woke up with a temp of 104:( Her darn cough is just horrible and may have even gotten worse, not better. I talked to the Dr on call and he said sometimes the fever can last 5 or more days with the flu. We are keeping her medicated and crossing our fingers that she will be better soon. As I type this she is working on a 4 1/2 hour nap (I am a little worried to get her up since I fear another fever). Well, that is about all I have at this time!
