The Park

Today marked the beginning of Megan's Sunday school year. After we drop her off at Temple, Joelle and I go to Kiwanis Park. It is beautiful and they have a huge covered play area. One of the best parts of this bi-weekly journey is feeding the ducks. Joelle loves to feed the ducks. At any one time, there are probably 20-30 ducks waiting to be fed. This time we also brought Joelle's Dora bike. She loved riding all over the place and has gotten very good at steering. Thank goodness for that, because there are people all over this park! Coming here a few times a month really makes you remember what is important in life. The little things. Being at the park and watching Joelle play, or watching her feed the ducks is so enjoyable and peaceful.

Sing, Sing, Sing

Joelle discovered her inner singer, while we were at Gameworks for David's Bar Mitzvah. She loved the microphone and she even belted out the tunes. I am not sure what she was singing, no one was! But she had a great time.

Having a Fairy Good Time

Joelle is a girly girl! She loves to dress up and look pretty. Just look at her smile. She is such a happy girl. She is growing up so fast. She no longer looks like a toddler to me. I see baby pictures of her and they make me a little sad, because my "baby" is gone. I see those pictures and I remember what it was like to hold her and rock her. She was so little and so dependent on me. Not so anymore. These pictures show all the sugar that little girls are made of, but she is also showing us much more spice!

Bar Mitzvah!

Wow, the day has finally arrived. David looked so handsome and grown up in his suit. He was relaxed and at ease. Here David is with his Rabbi, he had to read Hebrew from the Torah and he did it like a pro! The service was 2 hours long and David basically did the entire thing. We were so proud of him. If he made any mistakes, no one knew about it because he kept his composure and continued. He showed so many signs of growing up. We can't believe he is really 13!! With Junior High and becoming a teen he has entered a new phase in his life. It was very scary for me, but he has done wonderful and made great choices so far. A lot of David's family members and several of Steve's high school friends made the trip out to celebrate his special day. We are all so blessed to have wonderful friends and family.

After the service, David cuts the challa and raises a glass for a toast!

Don't we look good. Everyone is so grown up now.

The party was at Gameworks. There was lots of food and fun had by all! We had a huge banquet room with a pizza and sandwich buffett. The kids got 3 hour play cards and took off to play games. David had a great time with his friends and family.

Kathlene's friend Michelle made this awesome cake. It has everything that is important to David on it. Not only did it look good, but it tasted good as well:)

David getting a Laker jersey from Michael. See him beam. He couldn't even look at the camera! All in all, it was a wonderful day.
